EHOW Begumpet - A Poem by Dr.Usha Adams

Emmanuel House of Worship- Begumpet, is small but stands spiritually tall,

Beckoning people to worship and answer the Lord’s call,

Though small, the congregation is growing in number,

And the church day by day is surely getting humbler.

The leadership of elders and teachers make a good pastoral team,

People for their spiritual growth on them they lean,

The sweet voices of the choir members,

Bring joy and meaning to the songs and hymns they render.

The Sunday School nurtures the children in the ways of the Lord,

So that their young minds would grow in the fear of the Lord,

On Sundays the young men are encouraged to speak,

The Truths from the Bible which we eagerly seek.

Friday nights see the church doors open,

And the Bible is studied, explained and spoken,

Last Friday of the month is set aside for an All Night Prayer,

To bind the weapons of the devil in a powerful prayerful warfare.

Adult Baptism in this church for the believer,

Is marked as Christ’s own, forever,

Every Sunday we partake in Holy Communion,

To receive healing forgiveness power and protection.

Songs of praise and worship, and prayers of faith are offered,

Keeping in mind the penalty request Jesus paid and for our sins suffered,

The Women’s Fellowship, Outreach Programmes and Retreats during the year,

Where families pray and encourage each other and their joys and testimonies shared.

As the church is celebrating her Fifteenth Anniversary,

We pray that God’s right righteous arm,

Would rest upon us, help us resist the adversary,

And shower us with blessings and keep us from harm.
